Troubleshooting Drooping Wall Graphics

About Me
Making Crafts Together

When my spouse and I were trying to come up with some way to make holidays more fun for our kids, we realized that it would be amazing to do some crafts together. We started focusing on selecting projects that every member of our family could handle, and within a few weeks, we were making great crafts for the upcoming holiday. It was really fun to watch the kids explore their own creativity, and after a bit, our entire home was filled with fun, personalized crafts. This website is here for anyone who loves to craft, but who might not know where to start.

Troubleshooting Drooping Wall Graphics

Customizing the look of your home's interior is easier than ever before, thanks to the popularity of peel-and-stick wall graphics. These products offer a unique way to add personality to a room. Wall graphics are affordable, and they come in a variety of sizes.

The peel-and-stick design of wall decals makes them easy to install. However, some homeowners can experience dropping once their wall graphics have been on display for a period of time. Drooping graphics can detract from the beauty of your home, but fixing these drooping images is simple.

Reach for Your Hairdryer

The vinyl sheets that wall decals are made from temporarily glue themselves to your wall surfaces. Over time, the vinyl can harden. Hard vinyl doesn't retain the same adhesive properties as supple vinyl does.

You may notice that your wall decals will begin to droop as the vinyl becomes more rigid. You can address this type of drooping by using your hairdryer to warm up the vinyl wall graphics in your home. Warm air reactivates the adhesive properties of the vinyl, allowing your graphics to stick better.

Just be sure that you don't completely remove the graphic from your wall, as this can render the vinyl useless.

Use a Tennis Ball

Many homeowners experience drooping wall graphics because the surfaces of the walls within their homes are textured. Textured walls can add interest to a room and mask the appearance of small imperfections, but the texture creates an uneven surface.

Vinyl wall decals can have a difficult time fully adhering to a textured wall. You can use a tennis ball to help smooth your drooping wall decal back into place. Roll the tennis ball along the surface of the vinyl to ensure maximum contact between your wall and the vinyl graphics.

Replace Poor Quality Vinyl

Drooping can sometimes occur because the vinyl utilized to make your wall graphics was not high-quality. Poor-quality vinyl doesn't have the ability to adhere to a wall surface as efficiently as a high-quality vinyl product.

You might pay a little less for lower quality vinyl graphics up front, but you may find that you struggle with drooping on a consistent basis. Rip down your inferior wall graphics and replace them with decals made from a durable, high-quality vinyl.

Vinyl wall graphics can be installed temporarily to improve the appearance of your home. Removing vinyl graphics will not damage your walls. Don't let drooping deter you from decorating with wall decals. Take action to eliminate drooping decals within your home.
